Kyle Pilman took the pole and was up front most of the night. The race was not slowed down much because there were only 4 short cautions. When the checkers fell Kyle Pilman took the victory leaving Reed in second, Paul Emond in third, Everett in 4th and Double D rounding out the top 5. Kentucky Blue Grass and Max Racing = Victory
April 12th, 2011
Mike Roland The trucks were at Kentucky Speedway this Monday. The race started out with multiple cautions. There were 7 cautions within the first 30 laps, but once the drivers got their feet under them the other 70 laps were caution free. As the race progressed there were about 3 different packs of trucks and each one had their own race going on for position. Mr. Consistent (Max Racing) layed back and at the end found himself in the lead battling Kyle Pilman for the win. With no yellow flags the crew chiefs had to make the right calls and not have the drivers pit too early and risk wearing out the tires. Max Racing crew chief made the right call and he took the checkers home. Kyle Pilman raced him to the end and had to kiss his sister for second, but this was not too bad considering it is Kentucky ! Paul Emond ran a great race and took home the third spot. The Goodies Headache Award goes to Steve Grooms who found himself fast all night but his destiny with the wall took away that advantage. Next week the drivers will take a short trip to Memphis Motor Park for the Mud Island 150. Hope to see you all !!
Trucks Get A Test At Dover
April 5th, 2011
Mike Roland Wolf Pack Truck Series were at Dover Downs this Monday night. Another good turn out and drivers having alot of anticipation on doing well at this tough little track, but as the race got start they all found it very challenging. The cautions were few so the green flag stops were a factor in who did well. Much of the racers got a lap or more down with all the green flag pitting. By the time the last caution went green we had only 4 drivers on the lead lap. Kyle Pilman brought home first place followed by MacAttack in second and Max Racing in third. Fun was had by all on this track called the Monster Mile.
Steve Grooms Starts Season 39 in Trucks with a Bang
March 29th, 2011
Mike Roland Wolfpac truck series went to Nashville Speedway on Monday night. Everyone was excited to run the lastest verison of VHR and the mod did not leave anyone disappointed. We have 21 drivers to start the race and only 3 cautions during the night. The race progressed rather calm without much fan fair until the last 25 laps. Double D came into the pits for the final pit stop follow by Steve Grooms. Double D took only two tires and jetted out to a 6 sec lead over Grooms who took on 4 tires. Within 15 laps Grooms and his 4 brand new stickers reeled in Double D and took the lead. Grooms never looked back and cruised to the checker flag for the victory. Double D had to settle for 2nd and Kyle Pilman rounded out the top 3. Grooms drove this truck to victory like a real driver would, oops he is a real driver LOL. Next week the truck series will be at the Monster Mile in Dover. We hope to see you all there.
Paul Emond Wins Daytona While Max Racing Wins Championship
March 22nd, 2011
Mike Roland The Wolfpac Truck Series stopped to play in the sand at Daytona and while there race a little also. The trucks race around the track and with only 3 cautions for self spins entering the pits, the race was fast and furious. Matt Eddy made his first truck appearance and as a rookie did not do bad at all. During a Post race interview Matt Eddy started that it sure was hot in Daytona. With only 5 laps left the green came back out and the dash was on between Paul Emond, MacAttack, John Stanley and Mike Roland for the victory. As the trucks went across the start finish line Paul took home the checker followed by MacAttack, John Stanley, and Mike Roland.
Max Racing won his 3rd straight WolfPac Truck Series Championship. Max has become know around the track as Mr. Consistent. Congratulations to Max on being Season 38 Champion.
John Stanley Taste Victory at Martinsville
March 15th, 2011
Mike Roland Wolf Pack Truck Series rolled into Virginia foothills last night to light up the Martinsville Speedway. Paul Emond took the pole with the fastest lap. The race started and after a few yellow flags the race settled down for long green flag runs. With one pit stop left for fuel and tires John Stanley short pitted which proved to be a positive move and helped him gain a few seconds over the rest of the field, but Mike Roland, Patrick, and Paul Emond were not to be denied as they tracked down John with about 15 laps left. All 4 drivers were nose to tail and Mike Roland was tapping Stanley trying to get his truck loose, but Stanley stayed steady. Finally Roland made a mistake with the pit cones and got a penalty by Nascar, which took him out of contention. With 5 laps left John Stanley pulled away from Patrick and Paul to get the Checkers. John Stanley took first, Patrick second and Paul Emond rounded out the top 3. John Stanley gets to take the Grandfather Clock back to Canada. Next week the Truck Series will be racing the final race of the season at Daytona. Can Max Racing hold onto the Championship?
Steve Grooms Tames the Lady in Black
March 8th, 2011
Mike Roland This news reporter finds it very fitting that a South Carolina boy from Summerville, SC would tame the lady in black The Wolfpac Camping World Series made the short trip from Race City to the cotton fields of South Carolina for the Bowevel 200 at Darlington. From the looks of the standings it looks like the Lady in Black claimed its fair share of victims, but at this track patiences and cool head always prevails. Steve Grooms took the checker flag for first place , followed by the snow bird John Stanley for second place. William Vandiver finished 3rd and Mr Consistent (Max Racing) in 4th. Next week will conclude Season 38 in the truck series at Martinsville Speedway. Max Racing comes into the track with a commanding points lead and trying to make it a 3 peat. Can he do it?
